Players engaging in cheating in online games such as CS: GO may lose access to VAC-secured servers and suffer the loss of game items that cannot be traded or sold on Steam marketplace.
AMD customers who used an anti-lag feature could unknowingly end up getting banned from CS2, leaving thousands of weapon skins worth of their inventory locked up and unavailable to trade or sell. You can buy csgo accounts from iGVault.
What is a VAC ban?
Valve Corporation developed their VAC Ban anti-cheat system as part of their Steam digital game distribution platform, to prevent third party software that facilitates cheating from being installed onto online “VAC protected” servers and playable on official VAC-secured servers for particular games (for instance Counter Strike: Global Offensive). A VAC Ban does not, however, affect custom or private servers where applicable.
This ban is permanent; therefore it cannot be lifted without intervention by the game developer. If the user shares their account and/or computer with other people then any of those accounts could also be affected, which can happen when using family sharing or similar methods of playing games together on one PC and multiple Steam accounts simultaneously.
What is a Community ban?
CSGO Overwatch offers its community an effective means of self-regulation by giving qualified members (known as investigators) the power to review reports of cheating or toxic griefing, verify them as legitimate complaints, and implement bans where necessary. Investigative reviews take into account factors like account wins, game hours played, skill group membership etc before reaching a decision.
Unfortunately, despite its best intentions, the Overwatch system is flawed and false convictions do happen – even among professional players such as Fnatic’s two-time major winner Freddy “KRIMZ” Johansson who have been reported multiple times and subjected to VAC bans.
Thus, players with VAC bans cannot play any game on VAC-insecure servers, depending on the severity of their offense and depending on whether it involves Team Fortress 2 and Half-Life 2: Deathmatch accounts or not. In such an instance, penalties include silence periods of between one to three days, season bans or perma bans that apply across all of them – these sanctions do not just apply to Team Fortress 2.
What is a Minor Overwatch ban?
Blizzard’s Overwatch team has been quite proactive since the game launched in October, banning players for everything from wallhacks and aimbots to throwing games and being toxic. While most bans involve cheating activities such as wallhacks and aimbots, others could involve breaking Community guidelines such as swearing in-game or threatening other players.
Overwatch investigators monitor instances in which a player has received multiple reports over an extended period of time or has seen an unusually large spike in reports from peers. Each case is examined relative to this pattern and decisions are made on whether a suspect should be banned for griefing, cheating, both or neither behavior.
If a player is found guilty of committing a Minor Overwatch offense they will be banned for 30 days from VAC-secured servers but will still be allowed to play CS:GO until their ban expires.
How do I appeal a VAC ban?
VAC bans are permanent and can only be lifted by Valve if you can demonstrate that it was issued incorrectly based on evidence provided to them. Unfortunately, this process requires subjective information and evidence and reversed VAC bans for cheating in CSGO servers are very challenging to overcome.
VAC bans only affect your ability to play CSGO; other games tied to your Steam account won’t be affected. This is important, as many families utilize family sharing to enable multiple people on one computer to access various games simultaneously; if one user has been issued with a VAC ban then family sharing won’t work properly and multiple users won’t be able to utilize its services.
